Channeling My Inner June Cleaver or Check Out the Nov/Dec Crochet Today!

THIS has got to be my favorite issue to date!! Love the colors, love the retro kitschy look & the patterns geared mostly towards Christmas and/or holidays. The cover is brilliant with the retro white tree & the Donna Reed-esque model on the front. LOVE IT! Yea, I know, I'm of that generation so it brings back happy memories of childhood & yada yada but I think modern young women & men will enjoy this issue as well. It's fun & colorful & quite frankly ...cool!

There are too many gorgeous patterns to list them all but I especially adore the wonderful, zero- calorie gingerbread house by the appropriately named Carolyn Christmas of Gourmet Crochet. I have several of her patterns & they are wonderful & well written. Very user-friendly, even for a novice. Another point about the gingerbread house that appeals to me is no bugs!! I live in the south, so do lots & lots of bugs. But none of them will be attracted to this house, which has always bothered me when thinking about leaving a cookie & candy house sitting out on the table. Plus, I have a dog.

As for fashions...where do I start? They are done in winter white which is creamy, luscious & wonderful for deep south cool weather wear...(goes with the lightweight fabrics we wear most of the year). I must queue the capelet swing cardi & the icicles pullover, which has an adorable diagonal stitch & the snowfall cowl & the snowflake earrings.

Then there are the ornaments...I'm going to need a second Christmas tree!! Naturally, I'm not going to be able to make everything that I've queued from this issue because I've queued the ENTIRE issue. http://www.crochettoday.com/

Can you tell that I really, really love this issue?? ;)
