Monarch Migration Time...

Each fall the Monarch butterflies make their way through our area as they migrate back to their homes. Here you see one filling up on Lantana nectar. I've been waiting to prune my Lantana because of this migration as they have come to expect a home-grown meal at my house.

My Lantana shrub is taller than lie. It's been growing there for about 5 years & it gets full, hot southern sun. There may be entire colonies of unknown creatures living under there & the leaves make me itch so I am not looking forward to this adventure in gardening. But I want to build an arbor this year & the Lantana has to be moved. Shoot, maybe more butterflies will come & I can put this off a while longer.
