Debbie Stoller and Red Heart Yarn...a Happy New Year indeed...

This is the best news of 2010! I know, it's just begun but seriously I am a huge fan of Debbie Stoller! LOVE her S & B books & if it hadn't been for her first book "Stitch & Bitch: A Knitter's Handbook" I would have walked away from knitting entirely. Having (re) learned to knit after learning a few basics when I was about 8 years old & forgetting about said skill for say....too many years to mention...I picked it back up with the help of my sister who was visiting from Wales. After she left I had no where to turn for hands-on guidance. Then I found Debbie's book & I was saved, hallelujah!!I know her book has been around for a while & has been reviewed a lot but now is a good time to re-visit & sing it's praises. I always recommend this book to new knitters as Debbie has a certain teaching style that really speaks to my spacial brain. Perhaps it's the faces drawn onto the knit & purl stitches or her referral to binding off as being similar to a game of leapfrog, that really made(makes) the light turn on in this old attic. I have most of her books but this one is my favorite "go-to" book.

Now it's not just her teaching style that I love, it's also her style in general. I consider her a trendsetter & very talented designer/writer. And I personally CAN-NOT-WAIT until her new line of Debbie Stoller Stitch Nation Yarn by Red Heart comes out. Way to go Red Heart! Not only will the yarn be readily available, but it will be affordable, beautiful yarn of good quality! Red Heart "naysayers" are going to take a second look...how can they not with the likes of Debbie Stoller lending her talent to the yarn line. It's going to be a good year!
