"What I Did on My Summer Vacation...."

Hey y'all, remember me?? I have been here but too busy to blog. This has been a hot summer of scarves & totes & belly dance costumes as well as a few  projects that have yet to be released so I can't speak of them yet.

lined beach bag closeupOK, the last few times I wrote I was talking about some scarves that I am making for various folks in my family. Ummm, they're not done. However, I managed to finish 2 beach inspired totes for a "Vacation Swap" in one of the groups on Ravelry.

Next up, we've been having a goofy time in the Desert Garden Farms group on Ravelry, participating in the Redneck Fiber Swap. I don't even know how this swap got started but it was so much fun "talking" in dialect & looking for items fitting of the theme.

My swappee is a dancer & specializes in belly dance so I designed this high fashion beer can couture belly dancing garment for her. I call it "Beer Belly" and am almost finished writing up the pattern. After which I will offer it for free either here or in my Ravelry store. This was so much FUN to make, seriously!

I also did some dyeing...DSCN1373
Had to keep these out of reach of that "varmint" laying there on my patio table.

Some trash to "treasure" hat
This was also for my "redneck swappee"...FUN!

Bye for now.

  1. I love those bags. The colors are perfect. I am going to have to fight off my daughter and mom to keep them from taking them!

  2. Congratulations on a summer well spent with dyed yarn, beautiful crochet, and beer! :)
